Microsoft’s features and products have always proven promising in terms of their performance and efficiency. And this time, it’s the Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 10 that is running on 200 million devices. Company says that it is the fastest adoption rate of any of its operating systems till date.
Microsoft released Windows 10 as a free download in July powering both personal computers and devices like phones. It came as a replacement to the heavily criticized system, Windows 8.
Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella over two months ago reported that about 110 million devices were running Windows 10 which meant the system is now on almost double the number of phones and systems compared to before the holiday season.
“I would characterize this as white hot adoption out of the gate,” said Daniel Ives, an analyst at FBR Capital Markets.
With new and improved features like interactive Start Menu, windowed Windows store apps, digital assistant Cortana, new browser Edge, virtual desktop, revamped core apps and lot more, it seems Windows 10 has made users fall in love with it. Certainly, a good news for Microsoft!!
The Company believes that much of the rise comes from retail consumers, with devices such as Microsoft’s Xbox gaming console that aids in drive adoption of Windows 10. Dec 28th was the Xbox’s busiest day ever, it added.
However, the ultimate success of Windows 10 will be umpired by the take-up rate among businesses. The company said that about three-quarters of Microsoft’s enterprise users are testing Windows 10.
